All but the easiest human behaviour is ascribed to intelligence, while even essentially the most sophisticated insect behaviour is never taken as a sign of intelligence. This phenomenon goes hand in hand with the truth that artificial intelligence has failed to deliver upon expectations from previous ‘reputation waves’ (going again to the earlier Millennium, see box under this text) and is admittedly old as an idea, research subject and set of applied sciences – making it less interesting for a lot of vendors, as clearly AI applied sciences and functions, as well as expectations, have developed, albeit less than some like us to believe.
